Jill Rappaport's dog Rubie was on hand to launch her new line of beds.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the Global Pet Expo in Orlando, where I spent three days talking to a lot of wonderful people with some really outstanding and innovative products and services. I have to say that I enjoyed this particular expo even more than I usually enjoy expos (which is A LOT). It was a big show, with 1,051 exhibiting companies, 3,113 booths, more than 3,000 new product launches, and over 6,000 pet product buyers from 82 countries.

I’ll be writing more about some of the people I talked to later, but here are my top product picks from the show:

Clear Conscience Pet Treats. I wish my own treats were this clean and healthy. Whisper and Mimsy loved them.

Dexas-Popware for Pets. These are the pet products that you want to keep for your own use. The Collapsible Klipscoops are genius.

Dog Fashion Spa. They won a Pet Age Business of the Year Award in 2014, and it was well-deserved. Their product line is luxe, and everything smells so very, very good.

Dog Gone Smart. The snow is melting, the ground is muddy, and the Dirty Dog Doormat is my new best friend.

Collar-Puller Rings. This exercise and training toy gets rave reviews. One of my friends liberated it from me as soon as I pulled it out of the bag.

My Dog Nose It-Sunscreen. All natural, waterproof, vegan, cruelty and paraben free sunscreen for your pets. Mimsy needs extra protection on her little pink nose in the summer, and I’ll be keeping this handy on our walks.

The Original Poop Bags. There are poop bags, and then there are Poop Bags. These are the original, and still the best. They’re eco-friendly and bio-based, and I’ve been using them for years.

Planet Dog. You can’t go wrong with Planet Dog products. This year, I really liked the Orbee Tuff Buoy – it bounces unpredictably, it floats, and it has a spot to stash treats. This one will keep your dog entertained for hours.

Pet Fire Rescue Signs. These signs, which use a highly reflective film similar to regular street signs, go outside of your house to alert emergency responders to the presence of pets. (I’ll tell you my own house-on-fire story in a later post.) I gave one of the signs to my brother, who is a fireman – he loves it.

P.L.A.Y. Gorgeous, eco-friendly, and durable pet beds, toys, and accessories. The Chill Pads are comfy and lightweight for travel or office use, and the cat scratchers are so handsome you won’t want to hide them in the corner.

Tea for Spot. A range of dog-friendly teas made from certified, organically grown, responsibly harvested ingredients with wellness, calming, and joint and dental health benefits.

TurboPUP. TurboPUP founder Kristina Guerrero partnered with Fetch…for pets after her appearance on Shark Tank. These power bars for dogs are the official dog food of the National Association for Search and Rescue.

Twigo Tags. Even if you don’t need them because they’re quiet, customizable, and reusable, you’ll want them because they are the cutest tags ever.
